The people who mean the most to me.........

On Saturday, the kids and I loaded up after making 6 dozen Beiroks and 3 cheesecakes to take up to my sister's place for a family dinner. This would be the first time my kids have seen my dad since his heart attack in December AND the first time they would be seeing their cousin Satchel. I have kept them all away due to the fact I didn't want to expose my dad to any type of cold/virus and the same would be true of me denying them Satchel. Funny thing is.......I think I have caught a cold from Booker and Jackson.....LOL!!

Anyway, it was a great day. We had a nice dinner and then Jessica and I went to get new cell phones since ours were both 2 years old. Truthfully.....the entire process was quite painless and we were in and out within 30 minutes. We then went back to Teddi's house and loaded up to come home.

The day would have been PERFECT if Dave would have been there. I am always grateful when I can get all of my family together and Jessica was bummed out cause Dave wasn't able to come. Hopefully, he will be home this weekend.

The picture is of my Dad with all of his grandchildren. You can't tell it but he is like a pig in mud holding that little baby.

Babies, Babies and More Babies!!

We have been invaded by Babies!! WE aren't complaining but there is only soo much cuteness you can take!!

On Sunday we added 2 more goats to our "Herd"........My mantra is.....think of all the gas we save by not mowing! We decided that for our 12 acres, 6 goats are enough. I let my nephews Jackson and Booker name them. So, the white one is "Lizzie" and the black one is "Lexie"

*Notice how Dave is doing his baby talk to them!*

Satchel is home and thriving. His family is just on cloud 9!! Look how alert he is. He is gaining weight steadily and his parents are so happy he is on a schedule. On Saturday, all of us are loading up and going to go visit him and my dad. None of the kids have seen my dad since his heart attack and none have seen Satchel either. I am just paranoid they will give Dad or Satchel a cold so I have kept them away. No more!! They have threatened me with MUTINY if I don't take them up this weekend.

MOB RULE!!

More Precious Satchel Pictures

Here are a few more pictures for you to see why I am soo smitten with my nephew. I just can't get over how small he is.

He reached his goal of 1800 grams yesterday so hopefully he will get to come home soon.
Satchel......you are too sweet!

On Wednesday I had to take my friend to the bus stop so she could return to her family. It was a sad moment but the one thing that helped me get over it was knowing I was going to go see my precious nephew.

Satchel is doing wonderful. He will probably be coming home real soon and I know his Mom, Dad, and brothers can hardly wait.

I know "I" can hardly wait..........I'm thinking Operation "Spoil Satchel" is about to begin!!

Totally US!!

Here is a layout that I think truly captures how Dave and I are......NUTS.
Our friend Tobe gave Dave these boxers that had a "Naughty" side and a "Nice" side....we thought they were a riot.

BTW........Hey Tobe.....THANKS!!

Caution!! Bragging Auntie Here!!

This morning at 4:48 am, my nephew Satchel was born. He was 8 weeks early, but is doing fine. At this point, he is maintaining his own temp, breathing on his own and is by far the sweetest little thing I have laid my eyes on to day!!

A Toast: To Satchel. How Wonderful Life Is Now You're In The World!!

Sir Nik is 13!!

Hard to believe that 13 years ago, during a blizzard, this guy made his world debut. What a gorgeous baby he was and what a charmer he is today!

So, here's my salute to you my boy. My birthday wish for you is that you NEVER settle for second best, never believe that the world can't change, never take for granted that each and EVERYDAY is a gift.

I am so proud to say I am your mother!! I love you!

Family and Friends.

Christmas has come and gone. In a way I am a little sad because I had all of my kids home and now Jess has gone back to school. It was so nice to have her and Jared here with us for the holidays. This picture was taken on Christmas Eve. We have a tradition of giving the kids new PJ's on that night. I think this is the first time we have pictures of all of us in our PJ "Finery". This holiday made me aware that each day is so precious and to not take these moments for granted. With a family our size, the chances of us all getting together become slimmer as they all grow up. I am blessed by the fact they all know how I feel about being home for the holidays. I am hoping they continue to remember as they go their own separate ways.

This holiday was extra special because my dear friend Nancy was able to come and spend it with me. She arrived on the 16th of December and will be with us til the 16th of this month. She doesn't realize how she was such a Godsend to me. My dad's health issues really have had me stressed, but her being here has helped me keep my mind busy and that has REALLY helped.

So, as I sit here on this lovely January morning, it is 20 degrees out, bitter cold but I am nice and warm in our little house. In the kitchen, the kids are all fixing themselves breakfast and my old dog Gracie is sitting here so I can pet her.

What could make this day any better? A nice hot cup of coffee. Think I will go get a cup.
